Health bites: Haze advisory from MOH

Singapore is currently affected by haze. With PSI (air quality) in unhealthy range i.e. between 101-200, mild exaggeration of symptoms can be expected in people with pre-existing heart and lung conditions including asthma.

These people should try and remain indoors with doors and windows closed. An air-conditioned environment is preferable due to the air filtration. Physical exertion should be avoided.

In addition, the public may feel a range of general symptoms such as mild irritation of the eyes, sneezing, coughing etc. Most of these symptoms are not serious in nature and will subside as the air quality improves. It is advisable to avoid vigorous outdoor activity.
